Key Roles and Responsibilities of a Control Room Operator


Monitoring

Continuously monitor the control systems and operations through the control panel in the control room.

Operating

Operate the control systems to start, stop, adjust or shut down equipment or processes as required.

Troubleshooting

Identify abnormalities or deviations in the operations and troubleshoot them to ensure safe and efficient processes.

Maintenance

Carry out regular maintenance checks and tasks to keep the control systems running smoothly.

Communication

Communicate with other operators, field staff and supervisors to coordinate operations and maintain safety.

Reporting

Record and report any issues, incidents or operational data for documentation and analysis.

Emergency Response

Respond to emergency situations by activating emergency procedures and shutting down systems if necessary.

Compliance

Ensure compliance with safety and operational regulations and guidelines.

Planning and Coordination
